Company Description

The Financial Analyst is responsible for governance on OTC processes, mitigating risk on 3rd party sales for OUS sales, revenue recognition and preparing sales and AR analysis. By doing so, the Analyst makes a valuable contribution to the “Control Tower” function VLOG has within AbbVie. The Financial Analyst will be part of the center of excellence and working closely together with many stakeholders around the globe internally and externally. The Financial Analyst is part of a team of 5 analysts and reports to a Controller. He/she is aware of and works within the legal and company regulations and actively contributes to the governance processes and culture.

Job Description

  • Close collaboration with stakeholders internal (AbbVie Affiliates, global teams like OTC, RTR and Treasury) and external (banks & credit insurance companies) to support OUS DX Sales – AbbVie’s international sales executed through VLOG legal entity -

  • Preparation of monthly OTC SOX controls and governance over Customer Logistics Planning’s activities

  • Provide governance to any local financial policies and procedures necessary for maintaining financial control of the business and safeguarding its assets

  • Deliver information and data relating to both internal and external audits

  • Support OTC governance via usage of trade risk mitigations tools as letter of credit, bank guarantees and credit insurances

  • Preparation of monthly journal entries impacting credit insurance and bad debt reserves

  • Support OTC governance via usage of trade risk mitigations tools as letter of credit and credit insurance

  • Lead quarterly reviews of worldwide distributors inventory levels in order to avoid channel stuffing.

  • Prepare monthly aging reports and follow-up with AbbVie affiliates to support credit and collection controls for DX Sales

  • Supporting preparation of Commercial Contracts including Distribution Agreements in close collaboration with AbbVie Affiliates worldwide and VLOG Customer Logistics Planners

  • Provide input to Plan/Update to FP&A Consolidation team

  • Engagement with OTC GPL to address and collaborate on system and process improvements

  • Risk management: investigate opportunities and risks and co-create action plans with key stakeholders

  • Proactively seek efficiency improvements, participate in projects

  • Integration of activities related to recently acquired company.

Qualifications

  • Job Qualifications regarding education and work experience

  • Master in business economics or accountancy (CPA) at university level (or Bachelor degree)

  • 3-5 years’ experience and good track record in equal and comparable FP&A or accounting position

  • Understanding of US and local GAAPs, internal controls and financial reporting is beneficial

  • Strong analytical skills and deep MS office knowledge within a financial environment required

  • Preferably experience with logistical processes and/or international matrix organization

  • Prior experience with SAP is beneficial

  • Job Qualifications regarding cooperation with colleagues and team spirit

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to fluently converse in English and Dutch

  • Proactive mentality and focused on Continuous Improvement

  • Work well both in a team and autonomously

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills is required

  • Flexible in work hours, priority shifts and helping the team where needed.

  • Excellent organizational skills are required
