You will provide instrumentation and controls engineering leadership on all phases of capital and expense projects supported by GEC/GPM. Your collaboration with internal and external teams will ensure the successful completion of assigned projects and technical support. Your subject matter expertise wil provide technical leadership and education that drives highly efficient and effective I&C solutions in our projects and in our operations.

As a Instrument and Controls Engineer, You Create Chemistry By...

  • Leveraging your background in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering to provide engineering expertise and leadership in the specification, design, requisition, and installation of new process instrumentation.

  • Using your technical knowledge and experience to lead the instrument and controls discipline work to deliver reliable solutions for process controls and operability in accordance with plant design requirements, BASF standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Successfully engaging across the organization, as you collaborate with plant operations, maintenance, engineering, and external engineering firms.

  • Making wholistic design decisions which will be valued as you will identify areas of cost reduction, develop safe effective solutions, and drive continuous improvement in our facilities.

  • Providing strong analytical and problem-solving skills in our teams as you support the development of Safety Requirement Specifications for Safety Instrumented Functions.

If you...

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Chemical or Electrical Engineering) with professional engineering experience in a chemical / petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment.

  • Possess at least 5 years of Discipline and/or Operations Engineering experience.

  • Deliver strong skillsets in communications, problem solving, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to maintain focus in dynamic environments.

  • Are driven to continuously learn, develop new skills, share your knowledge with others, and desire to pursue a career in technical expertise.

  • Partner with our diverse teams for success and look for ways to improve yourself and others in the pursuit of continuous improvement.
