The Performance Materials organization has 18 union and non-union operational sites, and the North American headquarters is in southeastern Michigan, approximately 11 miles south of Detroit on the Detroit River.

We are seeking a professional like you to join our team and be an HR Generalist. In this role, you will collaborate with the HR team to advise and consult on HR policies and processes along the entire HR value chain. In addition, you will be responsible for driving results by leveraging your knowledge and HR functional excellence in four key areas: Talent, Leadership, Organization and Culture.

As a HR Generalist, you create chemistry by...

  • Working in supporting strategic HR processes for client groups, as well as deploy HR measures related to operational level strategy implementation and change management projects.

  • Working with HR Business Partners and operations leaders in various organizations to implement strategy, guidance and solutions on a variety of situations.

  • Utilizing superior communication skills in meetings with your client group all over North America, as well as support the recruitment of internal and external applicants.

  • Providing HR products and services with support from BASF’s shared services hub.

  • Demonstrating your collaboration and influencing skills, you will partner with COEs and the HR Service Center to deliver solutions and oversee the execution of tasks. You will also assist with the annual performance management process and talent review process.

  • Your proficiency in Microsoft Office will be essential, as you create presentations, pivot tables, and v-look-ups, as well as use data analytics tools like SuccessFactors and Visier.

  • Displaying your individual leadership skills, you will coach, counsel, and strategize with employees and leaders in partnership with global alignment of processes.

  • Your business acumen will be key, as you partner with regional COEs / Service Centers to deliver HR operational excellence on topics related to employee development, transfers, paid leaves, employment status, laws, absences, disciplinary actions and resignations.

  • Your change and project management skills will be essential in managing multiple day-today activities.

Your formula for success...

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Management or related discipline

  • HR work experience

  • Intermediate to Advanced level proficiency with MS Excel, Office, Word and Power Point

  • Data reporting and analysis skills with attention to detail

  • Written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Collaborative team player with a bias for action
