About the Team
The CVS Total Search team is at the forefront of driving strategic search initiatives that boost traffic and sales across our Front Store, Rx, and Health Care Delivery businesses. Our success is rooted in cross-functional collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and a relentless commitment to continuous growth. Position Overview
The Manager of Total Search – SEO will be responsible for day-to-day management, support, and participation within the Search Center of Excellence, building capabilities around activating a total search strategy to drive business results. Primary focus is on leveraging data and analytics to drive tangible retail results such as incremental visits and sales for CVS Health Care Delivery and/or ancillary lines of business.
As an SEO Manager, you will support the execution of a comprehensive SEO strategy to drive organic traffic and improve search engine rankings for cvs.com. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including content, product and engineering, and paid search to align organic efforts with broader marketing goals. Your role will involve a blend of technical SEO, content strategy, and performance analysis to ensure our business objectives are met. This is a “hands on” position and the ideal candidate possesses strong research and analytical skills, a deep understanding of SEO best practices and how to implement them and the ability to adapt to evolving search algorithms.
Job Responsibilities
Support the implementation of effective SEO strategies that align with business goals, focusing on increasing organic visibility and driving traffic growth
Conduct extensive keyword research to identify new opportunities and improve existing performance
Collaborate with product leads and content teams to create high-quality, human-first, and search-optimized content that addresses user intent and drives engagement at different stages of the customer journey
Optimize website elements such as meta tags, headers, content structure, and internal linking to improve ranking potential
Work with product and engineering teams on ensuring key technical factors meet best practices
Use available tools to monitor organic search performance and generate weekly reports including actionable insights for continuous improvement
Manage link building efforts and coordinate outreach campaigns to increase the authority and trustworthiness of the site
Partner with paid search and other marketing teams to leverage shared insights, coordinate keyword strategies, and enhance the overall total search approach
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
5+ years of SEO experience with a proven track record driving organic search growth
3+ years of SEO content experience driving business results through content development
3+ years of experience with SEO tools and hands-on expertise in Google Search Console, Bing Webmasters and Adobe Analytics
Must be able to work onsite 3 days a week (Tues, Wed, Thurs)
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and best practices for on-page, off-page, and technical SEO
Familiarity with content management systems (CMS)
Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations
Understanding of paid search strategies and experience working in tandem with paid search teams to drive Total Search performance
Familiarity with managing SEO for large-scale, multi-location businesses
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Excellent communications skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript a plus
Experience working in industries such as healthcare, insurance, or retail
Education
BA/BS, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$66,330.00 - $159,120.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
