SUMMARY The overall role of a Mechanic is to ensure that all machines and equipment in the facility are working properly and safe to operate. They perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to minimize machine down time. CLARKDIETRICH BENEFITS INCLUDE * Pay range of $33.00 - $49.00 per hour * Work Hours of 5:00AM to 3:00PM * Full benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Accounts and Life Insurance) * Monthly Bonus * 401(k) with company match * Vacation * Paid Holidays * Tuition Reimbursement * Professional Certification Reimbursement * Paid Community Service Day ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Follows appropriate safety procedures and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); follows procedures for Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc., and ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards. * Understands the downtime for each machine and assists to maintain maximum performance by conducting preventative maintenance on equipment and tools. * Performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, blueprints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions. * Performs basic repairs of manufacturing equipment (fillers, conveyors, tanks, pumps, motors, etc.) and utility equipment (compressors, forklifts, pallet jacks, facility (building, grounds, etc.). * Executes layout work and can use precision measuring devices, hand tools, and machine tools, such as lathes, planers, shapers, milling machines, and precision grinders. * Able to fabricate and or repair machine components per equipment specifications. * Welding and soldering capability to create high-quality work. * Assists to provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production. * Works under the direction of supervisor or any intermediary the supervisor may assign. * May be responsible for ordering the parts that are necessary for each machine to operate if a purchase is necessary. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS * Able to learn and operate Lathe machine, End Mill Machine, Drill Press, Surface Grinders, Grinders, Sanders, Hand Tools, Cutting Torch, Welding Machines and Brake Presses. * Able to work independently and with people. * Has a strong work ethic and must be capable of staying focused in a fast-paced environment. * Has good communication skills, and able to use a computer. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE * At least 3 years of experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing environment * Trade school in machines, strongly preferred. * The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS * Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimals. * Must be able to use and read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer, dial bore gauge, and various other precision measurement equipment.
