Full job description
As a Cargo Claims Analyst/Adjuster, you will work closely with our claims team, sales, customer service, accounting, payables and receivables and our management team in investigating, adjudicating and processing claims.
Responsibilities:
Investigate and adjudicate cargo claims, including logistics, FTL and LTL, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Prepare detailed file summaries for large loss claims ensuring all pertinent information is accurately documented.
Negotiates directly with insurance company adjusters, claimants, and third-party claimant representatives as required per cargo claim.
Prepare and file subrogation claims against other carriers, follow up and make sure to secure payments on all claims.
Reporting of claims as necessary, yearly/monthly claims reporting, assessments and prevention.
Communicate with the Claims team as well as the Safety/Compliance team (and others as necessary) on any relevant items
Requirements:
Post-secondary education, and transportation knowledge.
2+ years of experience in trucking, claims or safety is a MUST HAVE.
Experience with transportation liability and The Ontario HWY Traffic Act
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Strong multi-tasking, time-management, customer service, and organizational skills
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, write letters, emails
Ability to communicate with customers when required in the daily investigations of claims
