COOK RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares, cooks and/or bakes soups, meats, fish, poultry, vegetables, desserts and other foods for a group of residents of senior living facilities
  • Follows master recipes in the preparation of food.
  • Operates, cleans and stores dishes, trays, pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen/cafeteria equipment.
  • Maintains a clean work area; sweeps and mops floors.
  • Loads and unloads dishes from dishwashing machine.
  • Adheres to proper food service sanitation and safety requirements.
  • Assembles and serves food to senior participants.
  • Reports special client needs.
  • Maintains accurate records on daily meals served; obtains signatures of clients receiving services; conducts test and records temperatures of daily meals.
  • Unpacks and stores supplies.
  • basic food handling techniques; common kitchen tools and utensils; sanitation and general safety; record keeping; and basic arithmetic.
  • Monitor food services operations to ensure procedures are followed.
  • Inspect facilities, equipment or supplies to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Record operational or production data.
  • Cook foods for large group of residents.
  • Maintain food, beverage, or equipment inventories.
  • Clean tableware.
  • Move equipment, supplies or food to required locations.
  • Store supplies or goods in kitchens or storage areas.
  • Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
  • Cut cooked or raw foods.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have three (3) months Cook and Cook prep experience for large groups
  • Must have current Food Handler Card
  • High School Grad or GED
