Novant Health Environmental Health & Safety Specialist in Winston Salem, North Carolina
Job Summary
The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist develops and administers safety programs to reduce injuries to patients and team members; and establishes, directs and monitors compliance with Occupational Safety and Hazardous Material programs at all Novant Health facilities. Maintains a working knowledge and serves as a resource to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including TJC, OSHA, CAP, COLA, CARF, DOT, NFPA, DENR, EPA and other regulatory agencies. The Environmental Health & Safety Spec also assists in coordinating the safety function including training and mentoring.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety field or related life sciences.
Experience: Minimum of three years in a safety-related field required.
Licensure/certification/registration: CHSP or HEM preferred.
Additional skills required: Ability to successfully work in an environment of high stress with rapidly changing priorities is a must. Good judgment is critical. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Skilled in MicroSoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
