PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

This position is accountable for analysis of support functions within a shared service center organization, supporting Billing and Receivables systems and processes. With exposure to a multitude of areas, this role will support Billing activities, Publications of Contract Rates, Customer Disputes, Collections, Cash applications and other activities within the Lead to Cash cycle, ensuring adherence to controls, continuous improvement, and best practices.

Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction. Solves a range of moderately complex problems. Leads projects of limited scope and portions of larger projects. Provides informal guidance to team members with less experience. Contributes to department objectives and outcomes as guided.

This position is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba or Kansas City, MO.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Analyze and review inbound disputes, assess the actions required and follow through to resolve of the dispute or interline settlement

  • Support cash application processes by analyzing complex accounts and solutions to improve metrics

  • Support Billing services activities through accurate billing and analysis of trends to proactively identify and mitigate billing patterns and customer behavior

  • Support the Receivables team in account analysis, reconciliation and resolution

  • Accurately publish contract rates to facilitate customer invoicing

  • Assist leadership in ensuring process documentation is accurate and comprehensive, including training materials, audit documents and work instructions

  • Ensure adherence to process and Financial Controls

  • Identify and drive process improvement across all areas in Billing & Receivables Management and across multiple departments

  • Participate in special projects as required

  • Other duties as assigned

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study

  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional experience, preferably in accounting or transportation industries

  • Working knowledge of billing, rating, invoicing and accounts receivable practices

  • Railroad transportation experience is an asset

  • Problem solving & decision making - able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a full understanding of issues; able to use reason, review facts and weigh options

  • Attention to Detail – able to maintain workload without compromising accuracy

  • Proficiency in Excel is a requirement and SAP is an asset

  • English fluency is required, Spanish or French fluency is an asset

    Management Conductor Program:
