Minimum Qualifications

  • Some previous experience in the financial and/or customer service-related fields

Preferred Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge of the mortgage lending/finance industry

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Adobe suites

  • Attention to detail, quality and accuracy

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational efficiency and attention to detail

  • Proficient in French

  • Previous experience in mortgage lending document review

Job Summary

As an Associate Document Review Specialist, you'll process loan documents to ensure all document information is uploaded to the system and is accurate and complete. You will evaluate and examine documents relevant to the client loan application to ensure the accuracy and completeness, identify fraud and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) risks, and note any errors, omissions or inconsistencies to the client care specialists and/or underwriters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and review all documentation regarding the mortgage approval process

  • Obtain and update the client mortgage files to outline the outstanding conditions on the file in document database to keep other team members aware of the relevant details of an active mortgage file

  • Submit required documentation to underwriter for approval

  • Preparing approval packages for clients once mortgage commitments are received

  • Reviewing and satisfying compliance requirements for consent, mortgage commitment, disclosure, amortization and other relevant documents required for funding the mortgage

  • Generate compliance documents ensuring accuracy based on submitted loan application

  • Review employment letters, pay stubs and/or tax returns to validate the income provided on the application

  • Verify asset statements to satisfy lender down payment verification requirements

  • Understand data handling guidelines and confidentiality of sensitive information

  • Aid in the adoption of process changes and improvements

  • Consistently meet minimum production goal numbers and quality metrics

  • Stay up to date on current regulatory and lender guidelines

  • Manage individual pipeline and service level agreement (SLA’s)
