What We Are Looking For As a Materials Characterization & Testing Technician at 3D Systems, you will be a vital part of our product development and quality assurance processes. Your role will involve conducting various tests and analyses to characterize the properties and performance of our additive manufacturing materials and systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology and contribute to the advancement of 3D printing technology. What You Will Do * Conduct a variety of characterization tests on materials, components, and finished products, following established protocols and procedures. * Utilize a diverse range of testing equipment and instrumentation, including mechanical and thermomechanical testing instruments, among others. * Record and analyze test data meticulously, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in all measurements and observations. * Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot equipment and testing procedures as needed, actively participating in problem-solving and solution implementation. * Maintain detailed records of testing activities, including test results, equipment calibration, and quality control documentation. * Contribute to the development and enhancement of testing protocols and procedures, identifying opportunities for process optimization and improvement. * Effectively communicate test results and findings to cross-functional teams, offering insights and recommendations for product enhancement and refinement. What You Will Bring * Demonstrable experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment, with a focus on characterization testing and analysis. * Proficiency in various testing techniques and instrumentation, with hands-on experience. * Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in all testing procedures and data analysis activities. * Problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions. * Capable communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences. * The capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. What We Prefer You Bring * Familiarity with data analysis, interpretation, and record keeping. * Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements relevant to characterization testing in the additive manufacturing industry. * Previous experience in a research and development or quality assurance role within a manufacturing setting. * Certifications or specialized training in relevant testing methodologies or instrumentation.
