DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Position This position assists the accounting manager to provide financial support for the plant.

General responsibilities include specialized cost studies and analysis, identification of cost reduction opportunities, and reporting of monthly operational results.

Responsibilities * Maintains standard costs, bill of material and router information, and analyzes product line profitability as required. * Supervises plant physical inventories to assure an accurate inventory count and valuation and then reconciles the physical inventory to the general ledger. * Calculates and analyze Slow Moving and Obsolete dollars and takes an active lead in reducing Plant's overall exposure to potential waste. * Supports the development of systems and procedures to establish accurate perpetual inventory balances. * Reporting and analysis of actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior years. * Preparation of monthly journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and assists in all plant general ledger activities. * Assists in the invoicing process to assure that all shipments are billed on a timely basis. * Assists plant management in the preparation of Capital Expenditure Authorization. * Requests and tracking of actual spending and return on investment versus plan. * Participates as a team member in establishing goals and action plans to improve plant profitability and department efficiency. * Provides system support to plant personnel. * Prepares the annual plant budget and forecast for income statement and balance sheet items as well as headcount. * Responsible for the annual standard revision process and completion of the corresponding rebalancing of the annual budget resulting from the new standards. * Other related duties as assigned.Responsibilities * Maintains standard costs, bill of material and router information, and analyzes product line profitability as required. * Supervises plant physical inventories to assure an accurate inventory count and valuation and then reconciles the physical inventory to the general ledger. * Calculates and analyze Slow Moving and Obsolete dollars and takes an active lead in reducing Plant's overall exposure to potential waste. * Supports the development of systems and procedures to establish accurate perpetual inventory balances. * Reporting and analysis of actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior years. * Preparation of monthly journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and assists in all plant general ledger activities. * Assists in the invoicing process to assure that all shipments are billed on a timely basis. * Assists plant management in the preparation of Capital Expenditure Authorization. * Requests and tracking of actual spending and return on investment versus plan. * Participates as a team member in establishing goals and action plans to improve plant profitability and department efficiency. * Provides system support to plant personnel. * Prepares the annual plant budget and forecast for income statement and balance sheet items as well as headcount. * Responsible for the annual standard revision process and completion of the corresponding rebalancing of the annual budget resulting from the new standards. * Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education * B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance. * Physical / Work Environment Requirements * On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time. * Intermittently twist to reach equipment surrounding work area. * Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation. * Use telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. * Occasionally lift up to 35 pounds. * Affiliations with successful manufacturing companies desirable. * A minimum of two years of experience gained through increasing responsible positions within Accounting or Finance. * A minimum of one year recent experience with respon ibility for general ledger and / or cost accounting functions * Working knowledge of accounting, standard cost, and perpetual inventory systems and personal computer spreadsheet software. * Experience with an AS-400 environment and J.D. Edwards software beneficial. * Excellent communication, team, and analytical skills required.
