Lead Asset Information Analyst (GIS)

Summary

Accountable for the daily management and coordination of NYPA’s overall operations, including: Overseeing, monitoring, and evaluating the operational performance; directing the preparation of operating budgets and proposals for capital expenditure and investments in infrastructure, technology, equipment, systems, or other assets and resources; analyzing and approving operational investments that best meet the organization's business needs.

Responsible for enterprise Asset Information and Data standards and the related systems of record. Also responsible for driving, refreshing, and prioritizing enterprise Asset Information strategy in alignment with Business Unit and enterprise vision. Socialize and advocate for the prioritization and assignment of resources to required asset information improvement activities and projects throughout the organization.#LI-VB1

Responsibilities

  • Help close gaps identified within the Asset Information Strategy Document by supporting the Asset Information roadmap.

  • Ensure data quality and integrity.

  • Enforce corporate asset information standards and user requirements for corporate IT systems.

  • Manage the definition and implementation of improved data processes.

  • Manage work performed by NYPA staff and contractors to verify quality and adherence to schedule.

  • Oversee and prioritize work, providing direction, mentoring members of staff, and development of staff work performance goals with Director Asset Information.

  • Lead software contractors on system upgrade implementation business process and assist with / provide recommendations regarding goals and objectives for meeting implementation requirements.

  • Identifying opportunities for improvements in Utility Operations.

  • Analyze/audit existing business processes to identify improvement opportunities or gaps where new processes/controls are needed.

  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, prioritize and execute projects, and balance business needs vs. technical.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Deep knowledge of the Energy Industry.

  • In-depth familiarity with Asset Information/Data and related technologies, services, and practices within NYPA.

  • Deep technical skills and abilities to perform varied and complex technical tasks.

  • Ability to manage large projects and propose continuous improvement to processes.

  • Ability to lead, coach, review, and delegate work to other professionals

Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, information science, GIS, or related field required.

Minimum 6 years of related experience required.

Utility experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Up to 20% travel throughout New York State on an occasional basis. Ability to perform fieldwork in remote locations during all seasons. Fieldwork may require extensive foot travel over uneven terrain. Valid Drivers license

The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates’ relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
