OpTerra Energy Services Project Development Senior Advisor, Grid-Scale Renewables in Westminster, Colorado

What You Can Expect The Project Development Senior Advisor will manage and grow a regional portfolio of pre-construction utility-scale renewable energy projects within ENGIE's development pipeline in the U.S. and Canada. The Senior Advisor will collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure projects advance on the appropriate schedules and within allocated budgets to support origination, financing, and construction, to ultimately fulfill the company's renewable energy aspirations and growth strategy within North America. The Senior Advisor will help develop regional strategy, including identifying markets of interest, guiding greenfield prospecting efforts, and pursuing project acquisition opportunities.

Every day you will support regional development strategy for utility-scale wind, solar, and storage projects. Manage development activities of utility-scale wind, solar and storage projects from feasibility to the start of construction and evaluate viability of early stage and acquisition projects. Engage with staff to coordinate energy assessment, environmental, permitting, transmission interconnection, land acquisition, and design activities.

Support energy offtake, financing, and project M&A discussions, including due diligence activities Ensure projects are progressing on schedule and within budget Obtain local project permits and tax agreements Select, manage, and direct third party consultants and review their reports Engage with landowners and stakeholders to provide information throughout the development process Review project pro forma financial models Conduct site visits to define site characteristics and develop relationships with local stakeholders Remain abreast of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and the national industry trends impacting the future of wind and renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers Represent ENGIE in industry advocacy groups and at national wind and renewable energy events as speaker, panelist, and wind energy leader

What You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree in which you have completed courses in Engineering, Business Administration, Environmental, or Economics Minimum 10 years of project development experience in renewable energy utility-scale projects (Wind/Solar/Storage) with the ability to navigate permitting processes and community involvement Proven record of accomplishment in renewable energy development, including experience taking projects through financing Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve potential project flaws and to prioritize critical path tasks Track record of successfully working with public officials to obtain development permits, tax abatements, and corresponding documents Working knowledge of technical development disciplines, including interconnection, resource assessment, turbine operation, and GIS General understanding of market trends and resulting impacts on project development Superior verbal and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail, ability to present to a wide range of audiences, including landowners, potential off-takers, government officials, and corporate leaders Results-oriented leader with the ability to work independently within a large matrixed organization while effectively interfacing with the various cross-functional employee groups Strong desire to advance the adoption and deployment of renewable energy solutions across North America

Additional Details This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy Must be available to travel domestically up to 25% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Compensation Salary Range: $146,300 - $224,135 USD annually
