Charles Schwab Specialist - Software Development & Engineering in Westlake, Texas

Duties : Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Develop, execute, and maintain automation tests cases and test scenarios for high volume, low latency web, and desktop applications. Implement test automation frameworks for web services, APIs, and web-based applications. Ensure automation is constantly running and analyzing, documenting, promptly reporting on failures, de-bugging and fixing the failing code. Partner with scrum team members to build out automation solutions to advance SDLCs and meet critical business objectives. Write and execute performance and load tests for multiple applications to measure scalability and stability. Design test cases and test plans for given acceptance criteria. Coordinate with scrum team members, product owners and scrum masters to integrate project plans, testing schedules, and metrics logging and reporting. Understand application architecture, hosting infrastructure, interacting with dependency apps, and complete feature workflows to assess all risks around integration points before developing test cases. Provide complete testing coverage including manual testing when automation is not possible. Perform browser compatibility testing for web applications. Position allows for partial remote work (2-3 times in the office). Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Westlake, TX.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $102,215 to $143,600 per year

What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or related field and 24 months of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Position requires 2 years of related experience, which must include experience in each of the following skills: Application programming using .NET or JAVA; SOLID principles, design patterns and data structures; Test automation framework experience including TDD or BDD; Experience with database management like SQL or MongoDB; Source control and Agile Tools (Jira, Zephyr, Bitbucket and Bamboo); API testing using Postman and SOAPUI; and Troubleshooting Production issues through analysis of logs (Splunk), dashboards, and metrics.
