Red Hat Principal software quality engineer in Westford, Massachusetts

Design test scenarios based on customer and product requirements, including documenting scenarios for test case management. Participate in the design and development of core features of Red Hat Single Sign-On product (or related) to the various types of integration with other Red Hat products.

*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Red Hat, Inc. office in Westford, MA.

What You Will Do:

  • Confer with program management, product management, and engineering to design functional test scenarios and test scenarios for performance tests, as well as identify the system limitations and capabilities to improve the product.

  • Use shared storage for data gathered from the testing to compare the product with older released version and make improvements.

  • Supervise quality engineers, review their work and provide feedback.

  • Analyze errors and bugs in the product and participate in resolving those errors.

  • Analyze user expectations of the product's new features and participate in the testing and making the improvements.

  • Test the installation of the product and ensure that the installation procedure is well documented.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or related role.

  • Must have five (5) years of experience with Java;

  • Must have five (5) years of experience with Maven;

  • Must have five (5) years of experience with Git;

  • Must have three (3) years of experience with Jenkins;

  • Must have three (3) years of experience with performance testing tools, including Gatling, JMeter, and Locust;

  • Must have three (3) years of experience with Jira;

  • Must have three (3) years of experience with Linux operating system administration & shell scripting;

  • Domestic and international travel required 10% of the time for conferences and internal meetings. Travel expenses covered by Red Hat, Inc.

The salary range for this position is $130,021 - $211,180. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
