Summary This position is located in the Office of the Superintendent, Manufacturing Department, United States Mint - As Assigned. As the Executive Assistant, the incumbent independently performs highly diversified duties associated with the administration and management of day-to-day support activities for the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent. Responsibilities As an Executive Assistant, you will: Provide administrative, clerical and analytical support. Respond to various inquiries, requests and administrative problems directed to the Superintendent Arrange and attend senior staff meetings and monitor such to identify and summarize decisions and commitments; and follow up on action items with participants or support personnel. Serve as the principal correspondence expert in the US Mint Facility, providing guidance to subordinate divisions' administrative support, as well as document writers, regarding office policies and correspondence guidelines and advising the writers of any inadequacies Requirements Conditions of Employment All employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines. A one-year probationary period may be required. A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National Qualifications You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Be sure all experience is documented in your resume by indicating place of employment, job title, length of time performing the duties, and the name and contact information for the supervisor. For the GS-9, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience or General experience for this position includes: -Assisting with administrative functions such as troubleshooting office support issues, scheduling meetings and conferences, controlling correspondence, and appointment calendars for management; AND -Researching and interpreting information needed to prepare reports, and responding to requests for information. OR Education: A Masters degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or a LLB or JD, in a related field. OR You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-9 you must have been at the GS-7 level for 52 weeks. Education Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
