Position Specific Description

Overview

Employees in this role lead a team of technical specialists or engineers. Individuals make decisions and recommendations having impact on extensive Technical Services activities of the company.

  • Manage the Laboratory’s Quality Program.

  • Maintain the Central Laboratory’s State of Florida accreditation in accordance with the TNI Standard and all applicable State of Florida rules and regulations.

  • Update, revise, and maintain the laboratory’s Quality Assurance Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, and other quality documents.

  • Perform internal audits of the Central Laboratory, including both technical and quality systems audits.

  • Perform and document corrective action, including follow-up monitoring to gauge the effectiveness of the corrective action.

  • Maintain training records for all laboratory staff.

  • Schedule and successfully complete semi-annual proficiency testing for all analytes in the Central Lab’s Scope of Accreditation.

  • Schedule and document all required Quality Assurance/Quality Control functions for peripheral laboratory equipment.

  • Final quality control review of laboratory data.

  • Plan and lead the laboratory’s biennial TNI audit.

  • Manage environmental projects as assigned.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key staff and officials of other organizations and companies.

  • Uses skills in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues.

  • Applies a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented engineering and technical complexities.

  • Determines and organizes program and project objectives and requirements.

  • Develops standards and guidelines for diverse technical and engineering activities.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
