Job Title: Utility Distribution Engineer
Job Description
The successful candidate will operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform various engineering tasks. Responsibilities include preparing engineering sketches or specifications for construction, relocation, or installation of equipment, facilities, products, or systems. The candidate will be expected to determine material and equipment needs and order supplies, as well as analyze system requirements, capacity, cost, and customer needs to determine project feasibility and develop system plans. The role also involves developing or performing operational, maintenance, or testing procedures for electronic products, components, equipment, or systems. The candidate will also investigate green consumer electronics applications for consumer electronic devices, power-saving devices for computers or televisions, or energy-efficient power chargers. They will be expected to conduct research or develop new green electronics technologies, such as lighting, optical data storage devices, or energy-efficient televisions.
Hard Skills
Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment
Prepare engineering sketches or specifications
Determine material and equipment needs
Analyze system requirements, capacity, cost, and customer needs
Develop or perform operational, maintenance, or testing procedures
Investigate green consumer electronics applications
Research or develop new green electronics technologies
Provide technical support
Calculate Electrical Circuit Load Capacity
Basic understanding of pole attachments
Manage billing/permitting
Understanding of Low to Med voltage 7860 kVA
Use drawings for new development
Basic understanding of maintenance for substation relays SEL
Experience with Small Cell 5G
Ability to check faults with SCADA system data
Understanding of new developments, new housing where everything is run underground
Basic knowledge of fiber optics
Soft Skills
Research, design, develop, or test electronic components and systems
Employ knowledge of electronic theory and materials properties
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in West Memphis, Arkansas.
Work Environment
The successful candidate will report to the Assistant GM and will be based on the west side of Memphis, across the river from Memphis, TN.
