Job Summary:
Under general supervision of the director of facilities, preforms a variety of custodial duties to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of assigned rooms and building areas.
Monday - Thursday, 6am - 12pm
Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Sweep, scrub, wax floors, vacuum and clean rugs and carpets; clean restrooms; empty and clean waste receptacles.
Wash and dust windows, walls and blinds.
Operate a variety of electrical cleaning equipment; maintain and order custodial equipment and supplies.
Preform various tasks in moving or rearranging furniture, desks and other equipment; set up rooms for meetings.
May assist in training less experienced staff.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Attend department meetings
Additional Job Duties and Requirements:
Knowledge of methods of cleaning and preserving floors, walls and fixtures.
Use of cleaning materials and disinfectants, equipment and tools used in custodial work.
Be aware of occupational hazards and remain compliant with standard safety practices.
Periodic use of power equipment, vacuums, floor polishers and ladders or stepstools.
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Ability to work with a team/collaborate with others.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Requirements and Competencies:
Language Skills:
Must be able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English, with all levels of management and co-workers.
Must be able to communicate and be responsive on various platforms (email, teams, etc.)
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand: use hands to fingers, handle or feel: and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch: and talk and hear.
The job may involve prolong periods of sitting/standing.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May involve prolonged periods of magnified inspection (eye strain)
Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.
The employee is frequently required to use the computer.
Work Environment:
May involve the use of oils and solvents.
Subject to some soilage and irritation from cleaning solutions. (Lab Coats provided)
Generally works in a clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such.
Safety Glasses are required
May require area specific safety training
This position works in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne paper particles.
May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the production process.
May be exposed to dust, grease, odors and cleaning agents.
