Based in West Hartford CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Company's key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor, Assembly to join our West Hartford, CT team.

Supervise 20-30 employees in the Hydromechanical and Thermal Assembly and Test Value Stream. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The candidate should be a team player with experience in some of the following areas: aerospace assembly and test practices, low volume mixed mode production, contract bargaining agreement personnel management, lean manufacturing, and process flow optimization. Other responsibilities will often be assigned. The candidate needs strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Schedule shift production work and hold staff accountable for meeting production expectations. Analyze work orders to estimate worker hours and create production schedules that meet both internal and external needs. Compute amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisition materials from stock. Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. Plan flow of materials through department and develop physical layout of equipment according to work demand. Interface with others in the organization to ensure production deadlines are met. Direct workers to adjust machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards. Request changes to work procedures to meet production schedules. Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems. Maintains time and production records. Support the d velopment of capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times. Facilitate successful completion of key business improvement objectives and practices.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years production management experience. Strong business acumen coupled with mental aptitude and motivation to learn new functions and expand areas of expertise. Manage all major issues in primary practice areas with minimal supervision. Demonstrate initiative and advanced interpersonal skills in team problem solving situations, relationship building and aligning with business goals Ability and willingness to travel approximately 10%

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The following knowledge, skills or abilities are not required, but are highly desired to perform the team leader job function.

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or a technical field required. MS Office equivalent, Project Management tools experience is a plus Ability and willingness to travel MBA in operations management Lean Practitioner certification Contract Business Agreement negotiation skills Multi-lingual language skills
