The McAuley, West Hartford’s premier Life Plan Community, is seeking a dedicated Chef to join our team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Meal Preparation : Cook meals according to standardized recipes and planned menus, ensuring proper meal planning and portioning.

  • Presentation : Serve food attractively, meeting resident preferences and special requests safely and promptly.

  • Special Functions : Prepare food for special events, ensuring it is both attractive and flavorful.

  • Kitchen Management : Store food items properly, maintain clean and sanitized equipment, and follow HACCP Standards.

  • Cleanliness : Keep the work area clean according to schedules, maintaining a safe environment.

  • Opening/Closing : Responsible for opening and securing the kitchen according to procedures.

  • Team Collaboration : Report incomplete work and conflicts to the Executive Chef, assist with receiving and storing supplies, and support the Executive Chef to ensure quality service.

  • Safety and Compliance : Adhere to all safety, security, and infection control policies, focusing on resident and personal safety.

  • Customer Satisfaction : Ensure all tasks reflect a commitment to quality improvement and resident satisfaction.

  • Ethical Conduct : Maintain high ethical standards, comply with laws and regulations, and avoid conflicts of interest.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in food preparation and kitchen management.

  • Understanding of HACCP standards.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and resident satisfaction.
