Position Summary

The Lead, HRBP reports to the Division HR Director and is responsible for the day-to-day HR operations for the region including oversight of talent acquisition activities, employee relations, performance management, and talent management. It is a field-based role with occasional travel to stores, region or division meetings, and some company-sponsored events. The ideal candidate will possess multi-unit, multi-state HR experience. The position will cover the southern CA region.

Pay Range: $98,000.00 - $163,000.00

Responsibilities

  • Implements policy and strategy for short-term results and influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Decision-making is guided by strategic objectives of specialization.

  • Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Communicate updates to leadership as needed.

  • Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support 1200-1400 employees in 125 stores, 12 area managers and 1 region manager.

  • 25-30% travel or 3-5 days every month with some overnight travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 working years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent work experience.

  • 3-5 years of direct or indirect leadership experience in a retail environment.

  • Availability to travel as needed based on business needs.

  • Prior experience influencing without authority to work with leadership to make decisions.

Nice to Have :

  • PHR/SHRM-CP (CA) Certification

  • Retail union experience
