This is a Permanent contract working 37.5hours Per week. Monday – Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm

Salary is up to £38,500 based on skill set and experience.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Product Repair and Maintenance - Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products following guidelines, using required tools within standard repair time to ensure a quality repair; disassembles and assembles engines or power generators following guidelines, using required tools to ensure a clean and organized environment; inspects and replaces parts and components following re-use guidelines to minimize customers cost of ownership; performs progressive damage check following guidelines to restore to pre-failure condition.

  • Diagnostics Application - Translates customer complaints to develop troubleshooting plan; troubleshoots issue following guided work flows, procedures, specialized equipment such as mechanical and electronic service tools, and diagnoses computer software to isolate failed components to enable a successful repair; validates repair by duplicating complaint to ensure it has been resolved; documents results of troubleshooting in business systems to communicate what has been done for payment and historical tracking.

  • Disassemble, inspect, clean, and reassemble engines and /or engine components.

  • Performs preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines.

  • Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop.

  • Completes required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

  • Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

  • Carry out trouble shooting, repairs, and overhauls on a range of Cummins heavy duty engines within the Wellingborough Service Workshop. From small capacity engines to High Horsepower products for markets including industrial, defense and locomotive.

  • Completes diagnostics, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision.

Working to the documented service procedures, and within the health and safety guidelines.

  • Completing all work and documentation on time and to a high standard.

  • Opportunities to become involved in local projects at various intervals.

  • Health and Safety Fundamentals - Champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting, and participating in actions to improve health and safety to build an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free workplace.
