As part of this team, we are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Build Reliability Engineer to join us at Blue Origin. The ideal candidate will drive accelerated improvements within our build process, increasing efficiency, repeatability, and production rate. This individual will be responsible for taking ownership of production non-conformance resolution and understanding the impact of non-conformances on the system. You will work on the factory floor and play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products, with a detailed focus on reducing risk, and leading to safe and repeatable space flight. Key Responsibilities: Lead manufacturing improvement projects, optimizing processes, incorporating inspection steps, and addressing recurring issues. Investigate issues, to uncover direct and root causes, driving down risk. Own the non-conformance approval process, ensuring thorough review and resolution with a focus on technical robustness. Develop tracking tools and continuously monitor them to address concerns, including hands-on testing, operations support, supplier visits, and data analysis. Monitor and assess critical processes to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. Approve rework and repair actions outside of the normal production process. Provide surge support and be the second set of eyes for production engineering to ensure seamless operations. Collaborate with various teams to ensure alignment and seamless workflow. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, with hands-on experience in building and/or operating engineering products. Strong problem-solving skills. May include knowledge of reliability engineering and non-conformance resolution. Background in design and manufacturing engineering. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Proven ability to ask critical questions, solve complex engineering problems, and drive continuous improvement. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. A passion for human spaceflight and astronaut safety, and a capacity to work collaboratively or independently on sophisticated and exciting new problems.
