DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Capable of reading electrical wiring diagrams and harness architecture to meet system requirements (e.g., electrical routing constraints)
Able to use SolidWorks to design, draft and maintain electrical harnesses, create assembly drawings and installation drawings
Can make recommendations to electrical wiring assembly, installation, and fabrication components such as connectors, backshells, wire, insulation, and contact insertion tooling
Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs
Produce other required design documentation
Perform other duties as required
Willingness to travel as required
Education & Experience
Associates Degree – Drafting/Design, Graphic Design or Technical college certification or equivalent experience required
Understanding and application of EMI/EMC and electrical bonding principles preferred
Understanding of wire derating criteria and capability to calculate appropriate wire sizing and requirements preferred
Two (2) years design experience preferred
Experience using PDM or similar data storage platform preferred
Skills
Highly organized and detail oriented; able to juggle, prioritize, and keep track of multiple tasks and projects.
Ability to multi-task, work independently with minimal supervision, and make and communicate the rationale behind key decisions in a constantly evolving fast-pace work environment.
Strong project and time management skills with a high level of intuition and judgment.
Must have a “can do” attitude – no job is too big or small, problem solver.
Ability to take on ownership of projects ad hoc and drive them from beginning to end.
