Summary:

The Warehouse Operator is responsible for the knowledge of warehousing operations, familiarization with production operations/requirements, corporate and governmental policies, computer reports and safety procedures policies. They diagnose operating problems and maintain forklift check sheets; perform preventive and routine warehouse functions; enter data in the company database; and perform custodial duties as necessary.

  

Schedule:

  • Leprino Foods is a 24/7 operating facility; the employee must be willing and able to workdays or nights. The current vacancy is on night shift, from 5:00pm-5:30am. Our schedules run 12 hours on a 2-2-3 rotation that allows for every other weekend off.
  • After training is complete, new hires will be assigned a regular schedule on the next available shift.


Pay Rate:

  • $27.35 per hour
  • $1 per hour weekend differential for all hours worked between 12:01am Saturday morning through 11:59pm Sunday night
  • $0.75 shift differential for all evening hours worked between 3:01pm and 5:59 am any day of the week.


Responsibilities:

  • Load trailers according to customer specifications, corporate policy and/or special instructions by team lead/supervisor.
  • Prepare bills of lading, inspection forms, pallet exchange forms, warehouse logs and other shipping/receiving paperwork.
  • Inspect/verify incoming and outbound shipments in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Deliver supplies and/or raw materials on a timely basis to staging areas.
  • Re-palletize, re-label and/or rewrap according to customer or corporate specifications.
  • Conduct inventory and reconciliation according to corporate guidelines and Team Leads/Supervisors instructions.
  • Operate and maintain material handling equipment, floor scrubbers, batteries and battery chargers.
  • Print and placement of license plates on product.
  • Enter production comments into WIS.
  • Conduct the weight check process timely and verify tolerance.
  • Move product to palletizer.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Good Warehousing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and housekeeping assigned in the master sanitation schedule.
  • Perform work safely by following safety procedures and policies, critical safety rules, and expected standard conduct. Maintain 5S standards.
  • Follow the Food Safety Plan, Quality Plan, and company policies to ensure product meets food safety, regulatory, and quality requirements.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior experience driving a forklift, or ability to learn
  • Basic familiarity with all aspects of warehouse operations including, shipping and receiving, SAP or a similar inventory system, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), reviewing and ensuring accuracy of shipping/receiving documentation
  • Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7-day operation.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Previous experience with a stand-up forklift.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity or ability to learn SAP, or similar integrated manufacturing system.
  • Proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office products.


Physical Demands & Environment:

  • Works in a fast-paced manufacturing setting and is generally moving (e.g., walking, standing, or otherwise being mobile) for most periods of time.
  • It is frequently required to independently move and handle objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold areas.
  • Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods.
  • Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. hourly, climb a ladder, and walk up/downstairs regularly.
