Job Description: Operator Level I Full Time Seasonal
Functional Summary:
This position is a direct report to the site foreman or project manager. (depending upon project) The Level I operator is responsible for the safe, proficient, and efficient operation of many pieces of heavy equipment depending upon the task at hand. These can range from a large excavator weighing 75,000 lbs. to a mini excavator weighing 4,000 lbs., differing dozers, loaders, graders, and rollers.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the level I operator are, but are not limited to:
Takes direction from project manager or site foreman
Is responsible to perform project within time frame outlined
Has the ability to works with, directs and teaches laborers job-specific skills
Communicated material needs for the following day to office residential project
Keeps equipment maintained (greased), and site clean and organized
Reports maintenance issues for their machinery to the site foreman or the office
Safety:
Adherence to the companys Safety manual
Participate in weekly safety meeting
Work in a safe responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure ones self or endanger the well-being of others
Qualifications:
Education, Training and certifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Valid Drivers License - Required
Work Experience
2 plus years experience operating heavy equipment
Experience with both commercial and residential sitework a plus but not required

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, outdoors, indoors, and in inclement weather
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, extreme temperatures, and work sites will have uneven and inconsistent work surfaces
Must be able to regularly lift 50 LBS and on occasion lift 100 LBS
Kneeling and bending is regularly required
Use of Personal Protective Equipment
Overtime as required
Drug and Alcohol use will not be permitted during working hours
