Position Summary:

Advocate and support the Corporate WIN Strategy by managing department/shift leaders to ensure that department expectations in regard to facilities, equipment maintenance, and crib functions, are met for multiple sites.

Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:

This role involves supervisory responsibilities. These responsibilities include training and developing subordinates, delegating work assignments, conducting performance conversations, coaching and counseling employees, and administering disciplinary procedures. The role also involves interacting with employees at all levels of the organization and external contacts.

Essential Functions:

  • Safety and Compliance:

  • Lead safety initiatives and promote a culture of safety awareness.

  • Implement policies, procedures, and training to comply with safety and environmental programs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and preventive measures.

  • Perform safety evaluations of facilities’ interior and exterior, participating in Safety Committee meetings as needed.

  • Supervision and Leadership:

  • Foster a positive work environment by motivating and empowering subordinates.

  • Construct and execute development plans to enhance the skills and capabilities of team members.

  • Oversee the work activities of Maintenance, Facility, Tool & Die, and Crib Leaders.

  • Maintenance and Facilities Management :

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program. Regularly assess maintenance processes and adjust strategies as needed. Optimize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and enhance overall productivity.

  • Manage facilities maintenance, repairs, and upgrades across all sites.

  • Oversee planning, design, reconfiguration, construction, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, and structures.

  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for timely and cost-effective maintenance and facility management. Direct contractor firms to coordinate preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, equipment movement, new construction, etc.

  • Analyze maintenance history proactively to troubleshoot facility and equipment issues. Gather and analyze data related to facility and equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, and adherence to guidelines.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to drive smart manufacturing practices. Explore automation, data analytics, and Industry 4.0 technologies to improve efficiency. Allocate resources effectively for process optimization and digital transformation.

  • Cost Control and Lean Manufacturing:

  • Ensure effective budget management. Monitor department expenses and operate within department budgets.

  • Develop effective cost control programs by overseeing machine capabilities and implementing improvements to increase productivity.

  • Review, analyze, and estimate design costs, including equipment, installation, labor, and materials.

  • Actively support lean manufacturing initiatives (Kaizens, HPT’s etc.).

  • Employee Compliance and Corrective Action:

  • Administer and ensure compliance with company policies.

  • Investigate and document employee-related issues.

  • Coach and issue corrective action(s) when necessary.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (4-year) required; Engineering degree or hand on maintenance including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC preferred.

  • Proven experience in facilities management, maintenance, or related fields.

  • Ability to work on and solve a variety of problems of diverse scope and complexity in imaginative and practical ways and evaluate alternative solutions that may require coordination across multiple teams.

  • The incumbent must have ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Proficient computer skills with Word, Excel and database required.

  • Must possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
