Summary This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA), Office of Chief of Enterprise Applications (OCEA), Application Security Division. The incumbent will lead, supervise and oversee the Application Security Division as the Director, and is responsible for managing the Enterprise Security Assurance Administrators and Analysts team to provide input into planning, maintenance, and deploying enhancement of information systems security programs, Responsibilities As a Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist (APPSW SYSADMIN), GS-2210-15, your typical work assignments may include the following: Manages the Enterprise Security Assurance Administrators and Analysts team to establish system security measures to comply with applicable government policies to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, vulnerability and availability of enterprise-based systems, web services, and data associated with enterprise applications delivery to meet users' needs. Leads and supervises the Application Security Division and provides input into planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and deploying enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools for systems vulnerabilities and make adjustments as needed to manage enterprise-based application security and assurance direction. Leads and supervise a team of Enterprise Security Assurance Administrators and Analysts which covers of a broad subject matter area revolving around application security and assurance activities, including implementing and administrating application security is built on principles of balancing security advice with business and IT needs to ensure the protection of enterprise-based systems, web services, and data supporting the EOP. Collaborates with the OCEA teams to ensure that product business requirements are translated into application security and assurance implementation. Serves as the advocate for customer needs during development design reviews, implementation, testing, and rollout. Drives change management to ensure seamless adoption of new products, including working with customers, support staff, and partner teams Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive IT services or IT products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess IT needs, provide expert technical information or assistance, resolve fairly complex or non-routine problems, or satisfy expectations; knowledge of available products and services; committed to providing quality IT products and services. 3. Communication - Expresses technical information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing presentations; listens to others, recognizes potential miscommunication, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies IT related problems using a variety of materials or sources; gathers and applies technical information to determine accuracy and relevance to moderately complex problems; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives; makes decisions or recommendations that influence IT policies or programs and applies new developments to previously unresolved problems. -AND- TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. You may qualify at the GS-15 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector that demonstrates 1-Understanding of Enterprise Application security architecture principles to secure enterprise infrastructure in identifying, evaluating, mitigating, and minimizing risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities; 2-Understanding of applications software concepts, functions, techniques, and, security methods and principles, and managing information systems and applications software processes; 3-Overseeing Enterprise Application configuration, Software implementation, and maintaining security testing tools in the reporting/tracking of alerts and vulnerabilities to support organizational business; 4-Monitoring health of Enterprise systems, review application logs and determine root cause analysis for all errors, and apply patches & perform upgrades to Enterprise Application cloud environment; and 5-Implementing application security and remediation of application security code defects and improving Enterprise Application security effectiveness. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
