CareFirst Senior Campus Recruiting Specialist (Remote MD/VA/DC only) in Washington, District Of Columbia

Resp & Qualifications

This position is remote but candidate must live in the DC/VA/MD region to attend local events. (Primarily in DC and VA)

PURPOSE:

Develops relationships with colleges and universities to attract top undergraduate and graduate talent to CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield. Creates, implements, and executes a campus recruiting strategy, to include events, social media, identifying external community partners, and employer branding, paying particular attention to DEI initiatives. Act as an advisor for hiring managers to advise them of trends and best practices and serving as a SME on campus recruiting activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Identifies recruiting sources through the development of relationships with colleges and universities. Evaluates candidate qualifications by developing knowledge, skill, and screening questions for each position; conducts screenings, and participates in interviews; assesses candidates to ensure qualification match, cultural fit; conduct background check and references.

  • Plan events and activities for the corporate intern program including the speaker series, networking and social events and use internal/external social media to highlight and promote our programs.

  • Create and implement mechanisms for collecting feedback on the intern program from managers and intern program participants.

  • Work with hiring managers and talent acquisition partners to facilitate intern to full-time conversions.

  • Manage and facilitate recruiting activities virtual and on campus including networking events, on-site interviews, and other events to attract high caliber applicants. Identify new and creative ways to source candidates. Build and establish our employment brand on campus.

  • Develops networking and branding strategies to attract talent through the use of college related sites such as Handshake and Symplicity. Leverage social media tools to target, attract, and engage college talent.

  • Partner with business leaders to help forecast campus hiring needs and develop strategies to execute against those needs.

  • Implements and drives DEI campus recruiting strategy to attract candidates from all backgrounds. Develops relationships with HBCUs and other minority serving institutions as well as external vendors which further our community and company mission.

  • Prepares recruiting and hiring information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends; recommends improvements to the campus recruiting program based on trend data.

  • Work on special projects in Talent Acquisition and Human Resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or a Related Field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Experience:

  • 5 years of full life-cycle recruitment experience preferably in a campus recruiting role.

  • Experience planning and facilitating job fairs and developing relationships in the community.

  • Experience managing and designing campus recruitment programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience compiling and analyzing data/preparing reports and summary analysis as well as using metrics to support proposed recommendations.

  • Experience developing intern program components as well as planning and facilitating college intern programs activities.

  • Strong knowledge of recruiting technology, including CRMs to development pipeline campaigns and track event ROI. Has a pulse on the market on emerging trends in campus recruiting.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.

  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a highly demanding environment.

  • Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.

Salary Range : $73,080 - $145,145

Travel Requirements: Must provide your own transportation and be able to travel to regional recruiting events.
