One of our clients in DC is looking for a temporary Marketing Coordinator to join the team for 6 weeks, which could go up to 3 months. This is a 40-hour-a-week role that comes with benefits. You will assist the team with mass email cadences, proofreading, photoshop, and any other marketing needs. This is a Hybrid work schedule that will start as 5 days in the office for only the first week or two. This is an immediate need and we are looking to get the ideal candidate started on Thursday or Friday. Please do not if you have no prior marketing experience

salary: $24 - $26 per hour

shift: First

work hours: 9 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

Provides direct marketing support for Optica Publishing

Group's marketing team, including the following activities:

  • Prepare email campaign instructions for external vendors. Proofread test marketing emails before they are approved for deployment.

  • Assist with email list targeting by topic: copy/paste subject topic areas to Excel for each a journal article from the Optica Publishing Group website and sort the Excel document by most popular topics. Pull marketing lists from an internal mailing list tool.

  • Assign subscription-based journal articles as temporarily Open Access for specific email campaigns.

  • Update marketing email campaign schedule in an Excel marketing dashboard and an Outlook calendar.

  • Populate Excel marketing dashboard with monthly social media engagement statistics for reporting purposes.]

  • Compile monthly email and/or social media campaign statistics to populate journal monthly updates for Editors-in-Chief.

  • Create social media banners using InDesign template, and work with design vendors on design and production of collateral or web-based artwork.

Potentially help after more time with us and additional training:

  • Draft marketing copy for email campaigns. Obtain reviews / approvals from key Publishingsenior staff and journal Editors-in-Chief, as needed.

  • Draft copy for publishing content in Society's newsletter or short announcement blurbsfor Table of Contents (TOC) Alerts and Top Downloads emails.
