Summary NEH is an independent grant-making agency of the government dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities. OIRM is responsible for planning, developing, communicating, and coordinating NEH information systems management activities. The incumbent serves as an IT Specialist located in the Office of Information Resources Management (OIRM). Responsibilities Managing and monitoring systems and services. Troubleshooting and mitigating complex disruptive events involving information systems. Zero-trust cyber security management for users, applications, resources, and networks. Researches, analyzes, tests and plans for the implementation of new technologies. Ensures applications function securely and efficiently. Ensures that the network is secure and meets requirements. Manages authentication and access control within a centralized identity platform such as Okta Universal Directory. Manages telework/remote work connectivity through Zero trust management suites such as Zscaler ZPA and ZIA. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. At the GS-12 level Qualified candidates must possess: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level or equivalent experience. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: (1) configuring, managing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and mitigating hybrid (cloud, mobile, on premises) systems; (2) ensuing compliance and security for information systems using modern cybersecurity frameworks (zero trust) and tools (cloud); (3) providing professional and attentive help desk support to users and collaboration in team environments with peers; (4) troubleshooting and mitigating complex disruptive events for on premise, cloud, and mobility enabled networks; (5) expressing information to individuals or groups clearly and effectively considering the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial). At the GS-13 level Qualified candidates must possess: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level or equivalent experience. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: (1) configuring, managing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and mitigating hybrid systems which include Windows, M365, and Azure; (2) ensuing compliance and security for information systems using Zscaler and Intune; (3) providing professional and attentive help desk support to users and collaboration in team environments with peers; (4) independently troubleshooting and mitigating complex disruptive events for on premise, cloud, and mobility enabled networks; (5) expressing information to individuals or diverse audiences clearly and effectively considering the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial).
