Microsoft Corporation Communications Business Program Manager in Washington D.C., District Of Columbia

The Privacy, Safety and Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) organization is responsible for the company’s end-to-end approach to regulatory governance. In addition, PSRA leads internal guidance and external policy development in several critical domains – privacy, digital safety, lawful access, telecom, accessibility, and corporate standards – helping Microsoft earn the public’s trust by adapting to heightened expectations and expanded global regulation.

As a Communications Business Program Manager on our team, you will play a vital role in advancing Microsoft's overall mission in our domain areas and Regulatory Governance as we enhance and scale our modern compliance efforts. We are looking for someone with experience designing content and programs that motivate action and align people with shared goals. You will have a bias for action, the ability to drive programs in uncertain situations and a proven history of organized and efficient program management that enables whole teams to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Identify internal opportunities to help us develop new communications programs that support our PSRA and Regulatory Governance and objectives and improve current ones.

  • Have a plan and get after it. Define the project-based program communications strategy, gather program requirements, identify resource needs, and define and manage workback systems.

  • Collaborate to define and execute PSRA and Regulatory Governance communications plans and content, including strategy for projects and programs and contribute to priority moments across the organization.

  • Create compelling content and communications for the Regulatory Governance function and PSRA organization that lands the value proposition of our compliance efforts across the department and across the company when required.

  • Work with others to evangelize PSRA domain priorities and program to stakeholders, partners, and customers.

  • Support content and communications needs including management of Sharepoint sites and external transparency reporting across PSRA domains such as privacy, lawful access and regulatory governance.

  • Leverage data and performance metrics to define success and demonstrate the value of the program to show business impact and successful execution of overarching communications strategy.

  • Adapt content, communications and storytelling strategy according to audience and business needs.

  • Manage Rhythm of Business (ROB) program milestones with operational excellence.

Qualifications

Required/ Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 6+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement and in internal and external communications programs

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Proficiency in M365 - ability to create compelling visual presentations for large audiences and cross channel experience – SharePoint, Video, Social, Viva Engage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of tech regulation, governance structures or experience in compliance functions

Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
