Position summary:
The role of Senior Manager - Cloud Platform, Data & Analytics, will play a pivotal role in facilitating the adoption, development, and ongoing management of cloud infrastructure for Stryker's Data & Analytics needs. You will be responsible for leading the configuration and deployment of cloud-based Data & Analytics platforms, with a strong focus on Azure Synapse Analytics. This role will provide thought leadership in cloud platform management, technology leadership, cloud governance, security, and self-service management. Also, providing guidance and mentorship to a group of cloud platform architects and engineers.

Collaboration :
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data and analytics needs, providing solutions that drive business value.
Collaborate closely with Data Engineering and Business/customer teams.
Technical Though Leadership and Management:
Platform Configuration, Deployment, and Management:
Lead the configuration and deployment of cloud-based Data & Analytics platforms, particularly Azure Analytics Platform.
Provide technical leadership in designing and implementing the modernization and consolidation of legacy data and analytics systems to an on-cloud Azure platform.
Oversee issues such as migration and provide strategic direction to architects.
Governance, Data Security and Compliance:
Develop and implement cloud governance policies and best practices. This includes creating guidelines for resource provisioning, security, compliance, and cost management.
Demonstrate expertise in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, enforcing measures such as data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and ensuring alignment with relevant compliance standards.
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations through access controls, encryption, and auditing mechanisms.
Audit and Monitoring Proficiency :
Implement robust monitoring and auditing mechanisms crucial for governance. This involves establishing and monitoring tools and processes to regularly audit the cloud environment for security, compliance, and performance.
User Access and Authentication:
Administer user access to the analytics platform by configuring user roles, permissions, and authentication methods.
Collaborate closely with IT Infrastructure and IT security teams.
Cost Management:
Monitor cloud costs and usage, implementing cost-saving strategies and budget controls.
Provide recommendations for optimizing resource allocation and expenditure.
Data Backup and Disaster Recovery:
Develop and implement comprehensive data backup and disaster recovery plans.
Define and enforce data retention policies for effective data lifecycle management.
Education & special trainings:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in the areas of Computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent field of study required.
Master's degree in MIS, MBA or related disciplines preferred.
Analytics certifications on Azure platform is a plus.
Qualifications & experience:
Minimum 10 years of IT experience primarily around cloud infrastructure, cloud solutions, Data platforms, Business Intelligence/Analytics, and systems architecture and design.
5+ years of leadership responsibility managing internal and external teams, influencing senior-level management and stakeholders; medical device or other regulated industry preferred.
6+ years of experience in Azure administration & architecture, Azure Data Services, ARM templates, PowerShell, and CI/CD using Azure DevOps.
Strong understanding of data architecture, data governance, and self-service analytics principles.
Experience developing partnerships with the technical, business, and sales teams utilizing strong communication and team building skills.
Familiarity with Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence solutions.
