The Role
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Temporary Payroll and Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team from January through early July 2025 in our Warren, NJ office. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in payroll and accounts payable, particularly with proficiency in Deltek Ajera or similar software.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Essential Payroll Tasks:
Process bi-weekly payroll.
Enter Third Party Sick Pay.
Void paychecks and assist in resolving payroll-related issues.
Process General Ledger (GL) entries for payroll.
Ensure accurate employee time records and PTO tracking.
Assist with entering quarterly bonuses (if applicable).
Ensure proper setup of tax profiles for new employees in our Paylocity system.
Essential Accounting Tasks:
Code and process Accounts Payable (AP) invoices weekly.
Code invoices for AP monthly.
Code and reconcile credit card receipts monthly.
Process client invoices monthly.
Regularly update Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and W-9s for vendors.
Set up new vendors in Ajera and ensure compliance for consultants and contractors.
Provide new hire training on Deltek Ajera.
Send weekly accounting reports.

Qualifications
Education
Degree in Accounting or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
Work Experience
Minimum 3+ years in payroll and accounts payable roles.
Experience with Deltek Ajera and Paylocity (or similar accounting/payroll software) is required.
Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong understanding of payroll processes, reconciliations, and compliance requirements.
Ability to multi-task and function in a fast-paced environment.
