Yorktel is currently seeking a Cloud Architect who will play a strategic role in maintaining all cloud systems including the front-end platforms, servers, storage, and management networks and information security risk. The role reports to the Vice President of Global IT within the Office of CTO which is responsible for all technical responsibilities within Yorktel and for the development of new products, services, technologies and tools.Internal & External Relationship Responsibilities:Create a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaption process.Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software.Develop and organize cloud systems.Work closely with IT security to monitor the company's cloud privacy.Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner.Within the Office of CTO assist work to facilitate cloud management, risk assessment, and risk management processes.Offer guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including bulk application transfers into the cloud.Assist with the overall business technology planning, providing a current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems.Knowledge of and adherence to Yorktel policies and procedures.Assist with implementation of Yorktel’s Security and Compliance practice.Other duties as assigned.Skills & Additional Qualifications:Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work.Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends.High levels of professionalism and integrityHigh ability to work with peersExceptional customer service skillsExceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills.Excellent problem-solving skillsMaintain a professional attitude and appearance at all timesExtensive use of business computer systems including Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Project.Authority & Decision-Making Capabilities:The Cloud Architect is a mid-level position and will work in a highly collaborative environment across Yorktel.Leadership & Supervisory Role:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or relevant field. Candidates with more than 5 years of experience managing cloud architectures will be considered. The ideal candidate will be able to perform networking tasks, including architecture, engineering and be able to interface with Yorktel’s customers.3-5+ years of experience designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions; building and managing cloud operations, risk management, and Information Technology. Good understanding and experience in the common security frameworks such as NIST and ISO27001 are a plus.Solid understanding of cloud computing and technology systems, as well as experience designing and transferring applications to the cloud (Microsoft Azure).
