Job Summary:

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting department's day to day operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient management of financial processes. This role involves managing a team of accounting professionals, developing and implementing accounting policies, and collaborating with other departments to support overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

  • Month-End Close:Lead the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals. Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and documented.

  • Team Leadership: Manage and help develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

  • Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures. Support the Corporate Controller working with the external auditors during annual audits. Stay updated with changes in accounting standards ensuring the company’s compliance. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

  • Process Improvement: Work closely with the Controller to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the day-to-day financial operations. Utilize technology to enhance and streamline financial processes and reporting

  • Accounts Management: Oversee accounts receivable and general ledger functions.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.

  • Financial Systems: Maintain and enhance accounting systems and software, ensuring data integrity and security.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget variances and provide insights to management on financial performance as needed.

    Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA certification is required.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. 2+ years of audit experience in a Public Acounting firm is preferred

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel). Systems Implementation experience is a plus

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly. Excellent interpersonal abilities are required.

  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines.

  • Industry:Experience in the Manufacturing or Consumer Products industry is a plus.
