DIRECT CARE STAFF (RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT SERVICES/SUPERVISED LIVING/PASHAB ATTENDANT OR RESPITE SERVICES)

The Direct Care staff is responsible for providing clients with: 1. Direct personal assistance with activities of daily living to include: bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene; eating; laundry, medication taking and ordering; meal planning and preparation; and housekeeping; 2. Assisting the individual with ambulation and mobility; 3. Reinforcing any counseling and therapy subcomponent provided to the individual; 4. Assisting with the administration of the individuals medication or to perform a task delegated by a Registered Nurse; in accordance with rules of the Board of Nurse Examiners (22 TAC 225.1 et seq.); 5. Conduct habilitation activities that train the individual to: develop or improve skills that allow the individual to live more independently; develop socially valued behaviors; integrate into community activities; use natural supports and typical community services available to the public; and participate in leisure activities of consumers choice; 6. Securing transportation for or transporting the individual; and 7. Supervising the individuals safety and security (in visual site at all times) 8. Reporting changes in the individuals condition and needs; 9. Record keeping; 10. Ensuring that the individuals rights are protected 11. All Staff are to remain awake per individuals residential service type
