Job Description:
BEAT LLC, is looking for an experienced Senior Test Engineer to join our prime contract and recent award for the LevelUP Data Science and Infrastructure effort. The Senior Test Engineer delivers automated and manual testing to ensure maintenance and enhancement software updates of The Unified Platform (UP) Environment are free of bugs that would negatively impact the performance, availability, confidentiality, and integrity of the system. While the role has managerial aspects, you will also be expected to perform hands-on testing tasks, and mentor other test engineers.
Qualifications:
5-10 years of experience in DevOps Engineering, Software Development (Java preferred), and/or software testing.
Must have experience with Cloud related technologies such as Hadoop and NoSQL databases.
Must have prior experience with Distributed Computing and Big Data.
Have a solid understanding of Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, applications, and proficiency in shell scripting (Shell/Bash, JavaScript, Python).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage multiple projects with broad scope, ambiguity, and high degree of difficulty
Meeting with development managers to discuss software specifications and controls.
Using the software as intended to analyze its functional properties.
Designing manual and automated test procedures to evaluate each software product.
Building, coding, and implementing software evaluation test programs.
Running test programs to ensure that testing protocols evaluate the software correctly.
Adjusting the software testing systems for maximum performance.
Finalizing and documenting testing procedures.
Completing final tests and creating test reports.
Presenting test reports to management and suggesting software fixes
Desired Skills:
Experience with AWS is highly desired.
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or similar is highly desired.
Certifications to meet the DOD 8570 IAT certifications (i.e. Security+ or higher level).
Prior experience or familiarity with our Big Data Platform is a plus.
Data parsing/transforming techniques to include JSON, XML, CSV formats.
Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites. (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Github Enterprise, etc.)
