Our Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity within our global Enterprise Business Systems team for a Senior Manager, IT SAP Payroll – Australia & PNG.

This pivotal customer facing leadership role works closely with all areas of the business, including HR, Benefits, Recruitment, T&E and Finance driving innovation and transformation in our payroll systems and technologies.

With a commitment to operational excellence, service management and continuous improvement; key accountabilities include:

  • Manage the payroll support team to cover operational support, maintenance, updates and continuous improvement of the payroll ecosystem and its interfaces.

  • Support the payroll strategy and migration of payroll and time management services to a Cloud SaaS model.

  • Support the development of a payroll roadmap to rationalise and standardise payroll solutions across the organisation.

  • Establish tools and support processes that ensure delivery of quality support aligned with service agreement and ensure proper and timely escalation when required.

  • Plan and coordinate the implementation process for payroll solutions.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams and vendors at the right time and level on requirements, issues and initiatives.

  • Lead the team to achieve support goals and keep track of their performance.

  • Stay up to date on industry best practices and capabilities of Payroll solutions.

    This role is part of a diverse global team therefore location can be flexible across the major Australian cities. Due to the nature of the role working with varied time zones will be required as will occasional domestic or international travel.

    About You

    We are seeking a senior level IT leader with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in SAP Payroll. You will bring with you solid technical skills, knowledge of SAP Payroll functionality and integration points as well as payroll implementation. Certification as an SAP Payroll practitioner complimenting your relevant tertiary qualifications will be well regarded.

    Other key skills and abilities required include:

  • Solid business and technical acumen, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • People leadership experience, including remote teams.

  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes at a senior management level.

  • Ability to adapt rapidly changing priorities and work through ambiguities.

  • Creative thinking and problem solving, including logical and structured decision making
