Position Summary

The Account Manager is responsible for the overall development, implementation and management of product line strategy execution at their assigned account base which enables the company to achieve division sales and profitability objectives.

Brand(s): Spalding and/or AAI

Category Responsibility: One or more of the following - Basketball, Volleyball, Gymnastics

Specific Responsibilities

Work directly with the Company sales, marketing and finance teams to develop sales and promotional strategies that meet/excees sales and profitability expectations for both the Company and assigned accounts.

Responsible for handling all sales calls within their assigned territory with customers, end users, and dealer/distributors. Responsible for sales, replenishment, forecasting, credit, product information/setup, and customer service. Sales also includes both account management and new account development.

Provides oversight, guidance, and communication with dealers to ensure proper management of all product, sales, and promotional strategies on a quarterly/annual basis, with Company guidelines for all AAI dealers.

Provides continuous communication to support departments so they are in alignment with their accounts objectives, strategies, results and requirements that must be met in order to achieve mutual success.

Attends trade shows, events, and partnership meetings in order to promote products and services, as well as introduce new products to the market for assigned categories and brands

Attends sports event and competitions to assist with product delivery and set up and tear down

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills; manage multiple projects effectively.

  • Excellent management skills; specifically as it related to employees working in distant locations.

  • Proficient computer skills; specifically in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Must be available to travel regularly to visit accounts at their headquarter locations.

  • Must have strong knowledge of sports market.

  • Must be available to attend and assist at sports events for set ups.

Minimum Job Experience Required

3+ years of experience in sales account management or a related area.
