The Team:

S&P Global’s Journal of Commerce commercial team is dedicated, energetic, and a revenue driven team responsible for strategic campaigns encompassing advertising, custom content and event sponsorships. Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Develop and execute on our sales plan, which is based on product, regional and individual quota plan.

  • Maintain daily reporting of pipeline and forecast through Salesforce

  • Build and cultivate new business prospects as well as cross-selling within existing accounts

  • Attend meetings to collaborate with peers, particularly on best practices, competitive intel and sales strategy

  • Travel within territory and trade events in support of sales efforts

  • Practice effective, transparent communication with management, customers and internal staff

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $61,846K to $126,225. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for a sales commission plan.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree desirable or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, negotiation, and closing skills with a strategic and consultative approach.

  • 7+ years in a sales and account management experience with a proven track record of success.

  • Min 3 years’ experience preferred of managing end to end sales within the global supply chain/transportation industry.

  • Demonstrated success in closing large and complex sales, involving multiple stakeholders alongside negotiation and relationship building skills.

  • High energy, self-motivated, team player, able to work as part of a remote team.

  • Experience with revenue generation.

  • Must be proficient in Salesforce, Teams, Excel, MS Office and ability to quickly learn new technologies.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to consult with customers to assess marketing needs and provide proposals which provide clear ROI for marketing spend.

  • Take responsibility for own work, are proactive and not afraid to take on new challenges.

  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing situations

  • Well balanced sales mindset and discipline to balance short-term new business goals with long term divisional goals.
