Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Associate Director of Sales & Business Development to lead our strategic engagement with senior executives (including C-Suite) at automakers (OEMs) and national sales companies (NSCs). This role focuses on developing and executing comprehensive account growth strategies, nurturing executive relationships, and collaborating with specialists to streamline engagement processes.

The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor, adept at customizing complex solutions and offerings to meet client needs. A deep understanding of the automotive industry, including emerging trends, business processes, and competitive landscapes, is essential. This senior sales professional will manage multiple opportunities across various sales stages, driving revenue growth while achieving assigned goals and objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Account Management: Develop and own the overall account growth strategy for assigned accounts, ensuring alignment with client objectives.

  • Collaboration & Solution Development: Work closely with sales specialists to craft and implement strategies that provide innovative, solutions-based offerings, enabling clients to meet their goals effectively.

  • Pipeline Generation: Identify and generate a robust pipeline that aligns S&P Global Mobility solutions with current and future customer challenges, driving revenue in line with growth targets.

  • Client Engagement: Maintain and expand business relationships through regular in-person and virtual meetings with customers.

  • Executive Representation: Act as a key representative for S&P Global Mobility to C-Suite and senior executives, facilitating engagement with sales specialists.

  • Product Knowledge & Articulation: Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of S&P Global Mobility's products and services, effectively communicating their value to clients.

  • Functional Leadership: Provide functional account leadership by reviewing account plans, managing the sales pipeline, and ensuring accurate revenue forecasting.

  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of sales professionals, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and achievement of sales targets.

  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly track progress against account plans, dedicating appropriate time and resources to meet annual sales objectives.

  • Change Management: Positively manage change initiatives both internally and externally.

  • Voice of the Customer: Convey customer feedback to management and product teams to inform strategic direction.

  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 15 years of automotive industry experience is essential.

  • Proven track record of sales leadership, consistently meeting or exceeding targets in a growth-oriented organization.

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Experience in developing and managing account plans, sales planning, and sales forecasting.

  • Familiarity with S&P Global Mobility's products and services and their applications in client settings.

  • Strong negotiation skills to drive win-win outcomes.

  • Experience in proposal development and writing.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a virtual home office position. Candidates must be independent, proactive, and results-oriented, with the ability to work from home and travel to client sites as needed.

  • Candidates should reside in the NJ/NY metro-area.
