IHG Training Supervisor in Lebanon
Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Human Resources Manager or their delegate, and within the limits of established IHG and local Hotel policies and procedures, responsible for overseeing the Hotel’s training function, including assisting in the development and implementation of departmental training programs, supporting the training of new and existing staff, and ensuring that training outcomes are evaluated effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Analyzes the training needs of the Hotel and individual departments, developing strategies to address these needs.
Coordinates and ensures effective training programs are in place for:
New Employee Orientation
Train the Trainer
Customer Service Training
Technical job-specific training (with certification of departmental standards and procedures)
Supervisory Skills Training
Fire, Life and Safety Training
Selling Skills
Employee retraining
Works closely with the Training Manager and Department Heads to monitor the progress of training programs and ensures objectives are being met.
Supports the preparation, organization, and monitoring of training programs for:
Management Trainees
Hotel School Trainees
Assists in maintaining and updating training records for all employees.
Supports the establishment and maintenance of a training library, including books, videos, journals, and audiovisual materials, to aid trainers and encourage colleagues' personal development.
Assists in the design, production, and implementation of training programs tailored to the needs of specific departments, working in conjunction with Department Heads.
Attends departmental training sessions and provides feedback to improve effectiveness.
Uses IHG benchmarks to assess the success of training programs.
Develops and maintains a network of specialist training professionals to assist with advanced or specialist training programs.
Assists in producing regular training reports for the Area Training Manager and the General Manager, including details on:
Internal and external training programs conducted
Names and number of attendees
Duration of training
Trainer names
Training costs
Anticipated return on investment or training goals
Maintains up-to-date information and records on suppliers of training resources and materials.
Assists in providing input for performance evaluations and probationary reviews of colleagues in line with IHG guidelines.
Provides feedback and coaching to colleagues to help improve performance.
Supports the enforcement of hotel grooming standards for all employees.
Demonstrates understanding and awareness of all company policies and procedures related to Health, Hygiene, and Fire Life Safety.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in General Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources Management or a Degree in Hospitality Management.
Skills:
Fluent in Arabic and English, and French.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools.
Experience:
- 3 to 4 years in a training or related role.
