Vectrus Fitness Equipment Maintenance Technician in Iraq

Overview

This position is physically located in Iraq in support of LOGCAP

The Fitness Equipment Maintenance Technician shall be responsible for inspection, maintenance, repair and modification of government owned fitness equipment and machines. Services shall include but may not be limited to fitness equipment, refrigerators, and small appliances, basic carpentry work, furniture relocation, flooring, signage, and painting. Work as a team with other maintenance and custodial personnel to achieve satisfactory work results.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  • Complete inspection, maintenance, repair and modification of commercial grade fitness equipment assigned in accordance with the performance work statement.

  • Uses technical manuals, bulletins and written directives in the performance of all work.

  • Identify and maintain bench stock to satisfy immediate replacement requirements.

  • Troubleshoots equipment, diagnoses problems, performs corrective action and track work completion according to all applicable regulations and codes.

  • Perform duties safely, in accordance with OSHA safety standards and ensure all work areas and equipment are kept clean, orderly and in a safe manner.

  • Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools).

  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.

  • Shall be courteous to customers and able to identify and verbally communicate all items in English.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Certified through Life Fitness or equivalent to perform maintenance on equipment

  • Experience:

  • A minimum of four (4) years’ experience providing fitness equipment maintenance.

  • Skills:

  • Able and willing to perform other duties as needed, as skills and program allow.

  • Good teamwork and customer service skills.

  • Must be able to complete work requirements independently.

  • Must be fluent reading, writing, and speaking English.

  • Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).

  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
