Working with the VP, Facility Management Operational Excellence the Senior Director of Facility Hard Services (FHS) & Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) is accountable for design, build and execution of innovative Facility maintenance asset platforms. With a global reach spanning EMEA, APAC and AMERICA’S and a portfolio of 42 Make sites and $450mm annual spend the role requires an experienced, hands-on professional, proficient in design, build and execution of risk management and technical/digital transformational programs.

The successful candidate will combine domain expertise across a broad range of areas including facility maintenance excellence, operating model, and organizational change. Use their influence to drive active engagement across customer groups collaborating proactively to ensure all inter-dependencies across sites, functions, COE’s are considered and pragmatically solutioned.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO)

  • Own the enterprise approach to policy, standards and operational excellence across MRO purchasing, governance and operating model.

  • Sponsor and leverage the MRO integrator ‘Go to Market’ activities across America’s/EMEA to deliver a structured, effective, and cost-efficient way of procuring MRO in addition to, driving spend transparency and optimization of store management.

  • Influence strategy, design and execution of a governance model that establishes enterprise standards/processes, drives product mix optimization, improves inventory levels, optimizes turns ratios.

  • Define and deploy strategy and standards that address Slow Moving & Obsolete parts (SLOB) in addition to, addressing warehouse footprint and financial treatment.

Facility Hard Services Operational Excellence

  • Lead the evolution and deployment of Facility operational excellence Asset management strategy.

  • Refresh and deployment of technical/management standards across the MAKE portfolio.

  • Engage and influence the alignment/standardization of the ‘Yellow line’ at segment level.

  • Undertake site level capability assessment - technical/management level, design and implement upskills development program and functional competency model.

  • Review third-party contracts to consolidate and/or strengthen commercial terms, include adoption of J&J standards, introduce performance management and metrics.

  • Design and deploy Asset portfolio performance management in relation to efficiency and spend.

  • Shape, design, deploy five-year Asset Mgmt. Digital and data strategy. Define scope and value creation (quantitative/qualitative) gain alignment across segment leadership. Align priorities and implement plan.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with a particular focus on operational excellence, End to End asset management processes, operating model design, programmatic and organizational change management.

Experience and Skills:

  • SC Operations, Manufacturing and Engineering, Facility Management

  • Preferred Related Industry Experience: Pharmaceutical, Medical Technology & Devices,

  • Knowledge in Manufacturing and/or Maintenance Excellence, process reengineering

Other:

  • Duration based 18-36months - Global role: location is flexible

  • Less than 20% international travel

  • Internal Key Working relationships: Engineering & Property Services, Regional/Global Business Segment Leadership, Segment engineering functions, Quality, Procurement, Finance, EHS, SC Risk

  • Supervisory Responsibilities for 3 FTE
