The opportunity

The Asia Third Party Risk & Governance Lead will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of third-party risk management in line with new policy being drafted to comply with OSFI B10 for Asia franchise across all business units. In this role, the person will assist multiple diverse business units across the functions and countries in managing third party inventory and risk management requirements to ensure compliance to Global Risk Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross functional regional team in line 1 to ensure compliance to third party policy. Creating Asia procedures outlining the development of third-party lifecycle assessment risk management program ensuring alignment with all applicable laws and regulatory guidance

  • Supervise and guide for inventory completion as well as risk assessment of all third-party relationships.

  • Guide team on best practices

  • Provide governance on third party inventory and ensure completeness.

  • Training and coaching of all appointed team members on third party assessment.

  • Sets governance and MIS processes for KPIs

  • Work in partnership with Segment and Global Stakeholders, such as Risk, IT, procurement, and distribution, to develop formal procedures needed.

  • Inventory Management and Support

  • Provide regular status updates on overall Asia Segment third party Program status to Asia risk and global committees.

  • Availability to work on ad hoc third party or other Risk & Control Projects deems a priority by the organization.

  • Interface with internal audit teams and regulatory representatives providing program adherence, emerging risks, roadmap and efficiency initiatives; key representative for third party program during exams and audits.

  • Work on Asia Operations BCP enhancements and Operational Resilience related requirement as needed by upcoming OSFI circulars. Be a lead for Asia Operations for these activities.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience working in corporate with Operations or risk management with knowledge of financial institutions.

  • Knowledge of applicable Financial Services Industry legislation, policies and best practices regarding usage and management of third parties

  • Ability to work in a global business setting.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks within stated guidelines, deadlines with competing priorities.

  • Ability to analyze and organize large volumes of data.

  • Exceptional written, communication and presentation skills

  • Proven experience in stakeholder management with communication and partnership in regional, local business levels and external parties.

  • Leadership required to influence and lead team to achieve deadlines and to overcome/resolve unforeseen challenges.

  • Collaborative mindset with good influencing skills to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience in project management discipline, executing projects by developing execution and delivery plan, and effectively managing multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
