Oracle Principal Site Reliability Developer in United Kingdom

Job Description

As a principle software engineer in the Oracle SAAS platform team, you will have the opportunity to solve challenging technical problems and contribute significantly to the development, delivery and operation of our SAAS platform and, in particular, to the (development of) an automated diagnosis and remediation solution for the platform and SAAS services that run on it. You will work with a talented group of skilled software developers responsible for defining, developing, maintaining and operating the platform.

Principal Engineer is an individual contributor role that requires a proven track record of success and technical depth and maturity as a software developer. We seek individuals with evolved soft skills in addition to technical acumen. Excellent communication and the ability to lead and collaborate with others are hallmarks. You will mentor other engineers and must be capable of driving complex technical projects and assignments independently and with confidence. You will have continuous opportunities for technical innovation.

Responsibilities

Qualifications/Experience

Core:

  • Experience leading design and development of containerised applications on Kubernetes platform including expertise with Helm, Docker

  • Experience of Cloud service design for availability, scalability, observability and testability

  • Use of code management tools such as BitBucket, GitLab

  • Languages such as Java, Golang, Python

  • Familiarity with and use of observability and monitoring components including Prometheus and Grafana

Highly Desirable:

Experience developing with/for

  • Golang

  • Temporal Workflows

  • Smithy IDL (model development and implementation)

  • Argo Workflows

  • Terraform

  • Graph DB and rules engines

Knowledge of or experience designing and developing applications for application/system fault monitoring, diagnosis and remediation
