Our Finland locations include Vantaa and Joensuu, employing over 800 professionals supporting functions such as production, instrument and reagent manufacturing, R&D, marketing, sales, quality, administrative support, and supply chain. We hire experts in different fields including engineering, chemistry, microbiology, and bioinformatics. Our Vantaa site develops pipettes and microplate instruments as well as clinical chemistry and industrial chemistry analyzers, laboratory automation solutions and food safety kits. It is conveniently located close to the Vantaankoski railway station.

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D Mechanics team in Vantaa to work with Biomarkers, Automation and Instrumentation business to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. You may be a recent graduate or a mechanical engineer at the beginning of your career. You enjoy working with high technology products and have good collaboration skills. You will be working in R&D projects with different multi-functional collaborators like project and product managers as well as software, usability, verification and validation engineers.
A day in the Life:
Research and develop high technology products
Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and reliability
Discuss and solve complex problems with manufacturing department and subcontractors
Participate product sustaining
Keys to Success
Education
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in science (preferably mechanical engineer degree)
Experience
1+ years’ work experience in mechanical design / R&D role
Experience of 3D CAD programs, preferably SolidWorks
Creative approach to problem-solving
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Good spoken and written language skills (English and Finnish)
Passion towards continuous improvement, high quality and willingness to learn new
Analytical problem solver. Able to resolve sophisticated problems with the team
Ability to get results and make necessary trade-offs
Industry background – medical devices / healthcare / instrumentation
